This year’s annual Men’s Fishing Trip to Oak Island will be June 6-8. If you would like to participate in this year’s trip, please contact Lee Melby at 218-689-8503. Any of you who can come and have boats please contact Lee as soon as possible.
You will need both an Ontario and a Minnesota fishing license as we fish in both waters. A remote border crossing pass in also strongly encouraged. To cross the border you do need a driver’s license and a birth certificate.
There is not a set fee for the fishing trip, but we do divide up the total cost by the number of people and the time spent, and that is what each person pays.

A Membership Class has been scheduled for June 8 and 22, at 8:45 a.m. You may register for this class by circling "M" on the tear-off response form. Pleaase respond by Sunday, May 25.

Library News - We encourage you to visit our church library, which is located in the room at the back of the sanctuary. Parents are encouraged to help their children with their library visits. New materials are always being added.
The Forbidden, by Beverly Lewis

Caleb Yoder's father has forbidden him to court Nellie Fisher, but words alone cannot stop Caleb's love. Yet he knows that if he continues to meet Nellie at their secret place, he risks losing everything he would inherit.
Nellie, too, is torn. She longs to marry her Old Order beau but cannot ignore the gentle pull she feels toward the faith of her new Order family. Still struggling to come to terms with the death of her beloved sister, Nellie visits the Mennonite friends who were with Suzy on the day she drowned. Will Nellie find the missing pieces of her sister's life-and her own future as well? — taken from the book jacket
The Forbidden, the sequel to The Parting (also available in the library), is the second book in Lewis’s series The Courtship of Nellie Fisher. Reminder – If you would like to request something be added to the church library please complete a LIBRARY REQUEST FORM and return it to Sue Eaton. Request Forms are available on the library bulletin board.

Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. (Ephesians 4:3)

NOTE: All verses quoted from the New International Version

THE ABCs OF BECOMING A CHRISTIAN

A - ADMIT

Admit to God that you are a sinner. Repent, turning away from your sin.

(Romans 3:23; 6:23;
Acts 3:19; 1 John 1:9)

B-BELIEVE

Believe that Jesus is God's Son and accept God's forgiveness from sin.

(John 3:16; John 14:6;
Acts 4:12; Romans 5:8;
Ephesians 2:8-9; John 1:11-13)

C-CONFESS

Confess your faith
in Jesus Christ
as Savior and Lord.

(Romans 10:9-10, 13)

Everyone, regardless of age, must be convicted of sin by the Holy Spirit. To become a Christian, a person must believe that Jesus' death paid the penalty for sin and that God raised Jesus from the dead, and make a lifetime decision to let Jesus control his or her life.
