"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you..." Matthew 28:19-20.
Baptism demonstrates our obedience to Jesus Christ.
"Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ." (Acts 2:38)
Baptism is a testimony to others.
The Biblical examples of baptism always demonstrate first a personal belief and commitment to Jesus Christ, and then baptism following as an outward testimony of that fact. Salvation comes only through faith in Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8-9).
What Should You Do?
First and foremost, be sure to investigate who Jesus Christ is and receive Him as your personal Savior and as Lord of your life.
Decide to obey Christ. Do something about it today. Speak to one of the pastors or one of the elders, and plan to follow Christ in the waters of Baptism.
Our baptism is a powerful testimony to others!
In baptism, one is declaring his/her participation in the body of Christ. There is a mutual responsibility; the individual is responsible to submit to love the church, and the church is responsible to love and nurture the one baptized.
