A Study of Philippians (Junior High Sunday School)
How can a prisoner, chained to a Roman guard, be the happiest person on the entire planet? How can a quadriplegic, confined to a wheelchair, be filled with contentment and joy? How can you find satisfaction in your Christian life, when you feel hemmed in by so many challenges and difficulties? Find out as we explore Paul's letter to the Philippians.
Class will be taught by Pastor Kevin.

The Gospel of John (Senior High Sunday School)

Take a journey through John's gospel. The study will utilize the film, "The Gospel of John", a bold and powerful story of Jesus as told by his disciple John. Intimate and reflective, THE GOSPEL OF JOHN offers an unparalleled opportunity to experience the incomparable life and times of Jesus Christ. Class will be taught by Bryon VandeWege.

Adult Classes

C.L.A.S.S. (Adult Elective)
Christian Life and Service Seminars (C.L.A.S.S.) is a series of classes designed to provide a basic overview of the Christian life. CLASS 301: Discovering My Shape for Ministry is the third of First Baptist Church's four basic classes. This class focuses on Five Personal Factors that have combined to shape the "real" you. By identifying the specific traits you possess in each of these areas, the ministry God has designed you for will become crystal clear! Class will be taught by Pastor Pat.

The Way of the Master (Adult Elective)
The Way of the Master gives light to an almost forgotten biblical key that has the power to unlock the door of the human heart. This is the proven and effective way of making the gospel make sense to the unsaved. It is so rooted in Scriptures, once you see it, you will forever wonder how you could have missed it. It is the biblical principle of bypassing intellect and speaking directly to the conscience - the way Jesus did.  Discussion will be facilitated by Mike Dieter.

Announcement

'08 Fighter Verses (18)

Summer Celebration, our summer Sunday School for all ages, will begin on Sunday, July 13. The morning begins with coffee served from 8:45 – 9:00 a.m. Each week a different family or group will present a short program at 9:00. In past years we have heard from our Ukraine Team, Youth Missions Team, Global Focus Partners, and families who share about their recent travels. We also kick-off our annual VBS during Summer Celebration.

The Spiritual Growth Ministries Team is recruiting volunteers to serve coffee and rolls or muffins. Volunteers are needed from July 13 through August 24. Contact Blair Johnson by Sunday, June 1 if you are available to serve.

Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. (Ephesians 4:3)

NOTE: All verses quoted from the New International Version

THE ABCs OF BECOMING A CHRISTIAN

A - ADMIT

Admit to God that you are a sinner. Repent, turning away from your sin.

(Romans 3:23; 6:23;
Acts 3:19; 1 John 1:9)

B-BELIEVE

Believe that Jesus is God's Son and accept God's forgiveness from sin.

(John 3:16; John 14:6;
Acts 4:12; Romans 5:8;
Ephesians 2:8-9; John 1:11-13)

C-CONFESS

Confess your faith
in Jesus Christ
as Savior and Lord.

(Romans 10:9-10, 13)

Everyone, regardless of age, must be convicted of sin by the Holy Spirit. To become a Christian, a person must believe that Jesus' death paid the penalty for sin and that God raised Jesus from the dead, and make a lifetime decision to let Jesus control his or her life.
