This summer's Book Club selection is Gift from the Sea, by Anne Morrow Lindbergh. Lindbergh shares her meditations on youth and age; love and marriage; peace, solitude and contentment as she set them down during a brief vacation by the sea. Drawing inspiration from the shells on the shore, Lindbergh's musings on the shape of a woman's life bring new understanding to both men and women at any stage in life. She casts an unsentimental eye on the trappings of modernity that threatens to overwhelm us, and by recording her thoughts during a brief escape from everyday demands, she helps readers find a space for contemplation and creativity within their own lives. |
What an adventure! Plans are being made for the 3rd annual women's canoe trip. Space will be limited, so don't wait until the last moment. |
Volunteers are needed each week to help with Friday Bingo from 1:45 - 3:00 p.m. This is something you can do as a family; the residents enjoy visiting with children. |
| Contact Margie Dunham for more info. | If interested (or just curious) contact Teri Johnson or Jane Gracza. |
