Monday Manna- Do You Love Me?

One act of obedience is better than One hundred sermons.”

Dietrich Bonhoffer

I don’t think we realize how important or how powerful obedience is. In the Old Testament Moses was given quite a task. God gave him clear and specific instructions to build the tabernacle. Moses accepted and completed the challenge!

Exodus 40:33-34 says, “So Moses finished the work. Then the could covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.” Moses was obedient. Don’t miss the result of his obedience! The obedience of Moses brought the presence of God to the people of God.

If we desire to see God’s glory and Him bring revival to His people and an awakening in our day we must return to God in full obedience. Are you walking in obedience? What do I mean by that?

Here are two important questions to ask:

1) Is there anything I know God wants me to do that I’ve not yet done?

2) Am I continuing to do something that I know God wants me to stop?

I am confident that there are things in our lives that are not pleasing to God. If you want to experience the power and presence of God in your life you cannot walk in disobedience and expect God to bless you. I would urge you to take a minute and honestly answer these two questions above. What step is God asking you to take?

Maybe the first step you need to take is trusting Him. Have you ever trusted Jesus? Romans 10:9-10 puts it this way: Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.

Say yes to Him today. If you have already trusted Jesus I would encourage you to honestly and humbly answer questions 1 & 2 to God. He knows and you know if and how you are walking in disobedience. Confess or agree with Him that you need God’s Holy Spirit to renew and revive your heart and mind. It’s a step that you won’t regret. It’s God’s love that motivates us to obey Him. Our obedience to God’s word and His ways demonstrates our love and loyalty to God. This is a great witness to a lost world that is searching for something real. Show them it is real! Jesus said it best in John 14:15: “If you love me, you will keep my commands.”
